By downloading, installing, or using the Roomie application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users, including students, parents, educators, and visitors.
Roomie is an AI-powered educational assistant that helps students learn by analyzing homework images and providing personalized tutoring guidance. The Service includes AI-generated explanations, step-by-step guidance, and educational content across various subjects.
To use certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 13 require parental or guardian supervision and consent.
Roomie offers a free tier with limited daily questions and a Pro subscription with expanded limits and premium features. Pro subscription details, including pricing and features, are displayed within the App.
Roomie Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
We may offer free trial periods for Pro subscriptions. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the displayed price.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, educational purposes. You agree not to:
Roomie uses artificial intelligence models (including Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Alibaba Qwen, and xAI Grok) to provide educational assistance. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated responses may contain errors or inaccuracies. AI responses are for educational reference only and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information. We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content. Always verify important information with trusted sources such as textbooks, teachers, or educational institutions.
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Roomie and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service or included software. You retain ownership of content you submit (homework images, text), but grant us a limited license to process it for providing the Service.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any AI-generated content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roomie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App or contacting us.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
